Haymarket Cross by Ian Harper

Haymarket cross is an East Coast based shed layout based on that at Scarborough, and was constructed by Ian Harper. It is fully DCC operated and makes good use of the ready to run ranges in 4mm scale from the likes of Bachmann and Hornby.

From the outset Ian had decided the layout was going to be full DCC as it is ideal for a busy shed type layout. To run as many engines as he wanted to do would be a real headache in DC and as he had dipped a toe in the DCC water, he felt sure it was the way forward. He also wanted it to be run by more than one person and, with plenty of action wanted by the viewing public at shows, it can be operated by up to six.
